Gen 2 - Chapter 22: A Perfect Ending.

As we neared Champ Le Sims I was stunned at how beautiful it looked, everywhere was lush and green, and the houses had so much French charm too. It was such a wonderful place, really relaxing, and just what we needed. Kayleigh done an very selfless thing surprising us with the tickets, I just hope her and Jasper bond properly. Since that night she has done everything in her power to be the Mum that she should have been from the start, and I couldn't have been more proud. She was really blossoming into such a fantastic woman and Mother.

We had been even more surprised to find out that we were going to be staying on a stunning twenty foot yacht on the river Seine. It was decorated in calming blues and whites, and looked so romantic. I quickly placed our suitcases into the bedroom and got changed into something a little warmer, the French air was slightly cooler than that back home, maybe it was just because we were staying on the water. While getting changed I noticed that the Eiffel tower could be seen from our bedroom window. I was so excited, and had the most fantastic idea. I spoke to Jacob and he agreed it would be perfect, so I grabbed the local phone book and finalised the plans.

I thought we could visit the museum first, I had read in a few of the brochures that they had quite a few artifacts from Al Simhara, Egypt and Shang Simla, China. I had never been to either of these places, but was still very much looking forward to learning as much about them as possible, maybe even convince Jacob to visit them too.

Once there we came to the Shang Simla, China exhibits. There was a beautiful formation of the Terracotta Army with the King sitting in his horse drawn carriage, they looked so humble. We made our way round the exhibits slowly and saw a bright orange and green dragon display, I'm not really sure what it was exactly, but it was really detailed and the colours were so bright. There was a whole room dedicated to the art of Chinese pottery too, although, my favourite had to be the six foot tall vase adorned with a girl who I thought looked so very sad.

The Al Simhara, Egypt exhibit was next, it had some beautiful traditional blue and gold Pharaoh tomb decorations on display. Then we were lead to a room that looked as though it was being protected by two ten foot tall Anubis statues that were holding gold flamed torches. Once inside the room I realised why they were there, there were two solid gold sarcophagus's surrounded by a protective barrier. One was adorned with a kind of evil looking face, while the other looked rather sad, like it didn't really belong.

Once we had finished exploring all three floors of the museum it was getting pretty late, so we headed back to the Yacht for some dinner and an early night, we were going to explore the island tomorrow.

The sights took my breath away, it truly was a stunning place, I knew that this wouldn't be our last visit. The fountains seemed to be a big attraction, and there was one in the centre of the town square, out the front of the Nectary and there were quite a few in the resident's gardens too. We came across a small hill decorated with a formation of rocks and flowers, I assumed this was a landmark, just as the one we had back home was too.

We did a little more exploring before deciding to head to the Nectary to do a spot of grape crushing, and attempt to make our very own bottle of nectar. We were told that seeing as it was a very messy thing to do we would need our bathing suits on, Jacob was a little apprehensive about other visitors seeing him, but once we had climbed into the large tub and felt the grapes squishing between our toes he soon forgot all about the outside world. I hadn't had so much fun for a long time, I admit I did slip a few times, as did Jacob. The nectar was going to take an hour to prepare, so I set the machine to what the owner had told me. Once it had finished I collected it and we headed home to try some with dinner.

I think I ended up having a little too much nectar, as it didn't take long for the first waves of nausea to wash over me, and I soon found myself running off to the bathroom. After spending the next forty minutes with my head above the toilet I decided to head to bed, and hopefully I would be feeling better by morning, it was after all going to be our big day...finally.

Morning rolled around, after what seemed like a long restless night. I had barely slept, knowing what today held it seemed almost impossible. I climbed out of bed and found myself admiring my hand in a daydream...in just a few short hours me and Jacob would finally be married. I climbed back into bad and turned to face him, unable to wipe the huge smile from my face. He was sleeping so peacefully, I could just lie here forever just listening to him breath.

I had spent almost all day preparing myself, making sure my hair and make-up were just right and that my dress had no creases in it. I had chosen a one of a kind purple wedding coat by the famous French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel. It was just perfect for a sunset wedding in the middle of a French winter, and the colour suited my complexion beautifully, though it wasn't cheap, but so worth every simoleon that I spent. Jacob had hired a midnight blue tux from Marc Jacobs, he had been in the bathroom for the past hour and a half practising his speech.

I headed out onto the deck of the yacht, the Eiffel tower, which was lit up, in full view behind me and waited for Jacob. I heard a gasp emerge from his lips as he opened the sliding doors and said " Wow, you look stunning babe."
I blushed a little as I said thank-you and pulled him close to me. I couldn't take my eyes off him, he looked so dashing in his suit. I was still a little shocked that we were going to be married after all these years.

I took his hand in mine, pulled the ring from my pocket and said..

" You are not the air that I breathe, you are the sweet scent that drifts upon it. You are not the sounds that I hear, you are the music of my life. You are not the food that I need, you are the nourishment of my soul. You are not my will to survive, you are my reason for living. It is with you that I experience the wonders of the world. It is with you that I triumph over the challenges in my path. It is your partnership that will lead me to the fulfillment of my dreams. It is your friendship that guides me as I grow and learn. It is your patience and wisdom that calms my restless nature. It is through you that I know my true self. I do not take you for granted, I cherish you. I need you, I choose you. I choose you today in the privacy of our hearts. I choose you in strength and weakness. I choose you in health and sickness. I choose you in joy and sorrow. I will choose you, over all others, every day for all the days of my life. Jacob I love you with all my being....I do."

He smiled at me through silent tears that had fallen onto his flushed cheeks, and took my hand as he repeated the words that we had both chosen all those years ago. We were two different people, who complete each other, he is the other half of my soul, as I am his. I pulled him to me and kissed him.

Once the ceremony was finalised we headed inside the yacht, the wind had picked up and the air was crisp but still bitterly cold. I opened a bottle of our hand, well feet made nectar and poured us both a large glass to celebrate, we were finallly married. It didn't take long for the sweet taste of Pomello to creep it's way into our head, I snuggled closer to Jacob and and kissed him. I wanted him so bad, I pulled away to look at him and suggested we head to the bedroom, of course he agreed, and we soon found ourselves in a passion fuelled session of love-making.

I'm not sure what time it was that we finally fell asleep, but I remember my head filled with images of my perfect day. Tomorrow we would be heading home, I couldn't wait to see the children, and my Grandson.

This was the last chapter of Lyra's generation, I hope you enjoyed it :D
