Gen 3 - Chapter 13: I Do.

I couldn't believe I was getting married in less than a week. I had managed to botch up the ordering of the flowers, the cake and the bridesmaids dresses. I ordered Roses instead of Carnations and Calla Lily's, thankfully the Florists were able to change my order and able to have the flowers re-made and delivered to the church on time. I ordered the wrong colour icing on the cake, so instead of cream we had pale yellow and the bridesmaids dresses were a size too big, at least we had one last dress fitting tomorrow. The Church was booked and the after party wads also being held in the Church grounds, there would be food, dancing, and fireworks to finish off. Hopefully the big day would be less stressful and go perfectly.

All my family, his Mum and of course Kitty, Devon and little Savannah were invited. Kitty and Devon were such proud parents, little Savannah was going to be flower girl and I had picked out a gorgeous cream and pink dress for her and some tiny white shoes, she was going to look adorable. I was a little surprised that Mum and Dad already knew about Alex proposing before I did, he had been round a few days before and asked their permission. Of course Mum was cautious, but both her and Dad had seen how much of a changed man he was and welcomed him with open arms.

Alex and Jasper went for their last suit fitting today, but refused to show me stating that it would ruin the surprise and that it was bad luck. I still couldn't see how Alex could be so relaxed it was such a huge commitment and I was nervous as hell, but I guess in a way him being calm kept me grounded and relaxed.

My dress was simple but elegant, I had chosen a cream one instead of white and some beautiful Manolo Blahnik's to match my dress. A girl has to have a designer pair of shoes on her wedding day. Mum was going to be doing my hair and make-up for me.

I woke a bundle of nerves the morning of the wedding, even though I knew this was what both Alex and I wanted... but was it too soon? I looked over at my dress hanging on the back of the bedroom door, seeing it hanging there in the plastic bag instead of on me seemed to knock some sense into me. I was marrying the Man I loved.. today! Nothing was going to stand in the way. I jumped in the shower, as the hot water poured over my skin it sent tingles down my spine. I scrubbed, shaved, preened and plucked and was ready when Mum knocked on the door.

"You ready Hun?" She asked.

I nodded and sat in front of the dresser, Mum handed me a glass of champagne and began to style my hair. I wanted a glamorous yet girly style. I wanted to look amazing and I had no doubt that Mum could make me look a million dollars.

An hour and a half later, both my hair and make-up were finished. I stared in awe at my reflection... wow! Mum helped me into my dress, stood back and said..

"Wow Kay, you look stunning. You are going to knock Alex's socks off, I hope he knows how lucky he is."

With tears in my eyes I hugged and thanked her and we made our way to the awaiting car.

My stomach was in knots as we pulled up outside the Church, I slowly stepped out of the car and walked up the walkway towards the front door. I could hear soft music playing and the lull of voices quietly talking. Mum walked inside before me, making sure everyone was seated and in their places, once I had the signal from her I took the first step down the aisle.

Rose petals had been scattered on the floor and gorgeously scented arrangements were spread out amongst the ailes. It was a lovely little Church, just perfect for this special day. As I neared the alter my eyes rested upon Alex's face, his eyes wet with emotion and a warm, comforting smile on his lips. I took his hand and awaited for the ceremony to start.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house as we said our vows, exchanged rings, Alex's lips met mine as we had our first kiss as Husband and Wife.

The whole room erupted into claps and cheers, Mum and Dad offered their congratulations. We were finally married.
